Churchill County identified the need for a large, multi-purpose civic center to provide emergency relief services, COVID testing and vaccination staging, while still being able to serve the community when these events were not being actively addressed. Lumos was brought on to the visioning team early in the process, as an engineering consultant and contributing community member. This vision and concept for the Churchill County Civic Center, now known as the Rafter 3C Center, ultimately resulted in a 75,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility.
This development features an 800-space parking lot, along with amenities designed to facilitate evacuations, provide medical emergency services, and host indoor events like rodeos, concerts, and community celebrations or graduations. As a key member of Churchill County’s team, Lumos provided construction management, contract administration, materials testing, quality control, prevailing wage compliance, project closeout and final commissioning, and construction staking.
